Dream Déjà Vu

Have you ever dreamt of doing something and then experienced it in real life only a few days after the dream experience? That's exactly what happened to me over Spring break. Call it coincidence but I feel that this dream déjà vu situation was too identical to assume that it my mind was linking two random events. Because only one event occurred...I just happened to experience it at two separate times.

Here's a glimpse of my dream. For some reason it was one of those "I create the scenerio" by lucidly imagining things. I realized I was dreaming...and consciously decided to create a music video...but some of the elements were definitely beyond my control...

In the dream: I am watching from a moving tank. I can see explosions all around, but am not afraid. The ground beneath me is a combination of sand and dirt. The sky is littered with smoke.

And real life: I'm over at a friends playing Halo Live. (this is a rare occasion...MY first experience on Xb0x live) - I don't really know what I'm doing, but somehow I end up jumping up on a tank that someone else begins to drive. Suddenly, everything I see looks far too familiar. The feeling of déjà vu sweeps over my body and I decide to try to ignore it. But later on my mind keeps tracing back to this moment. I decide its worth looking into:

Dream Fact: Results of several surveys across large population sets indicate that between 18% and 38% of people have experienced at least one precognitive dream and 70% have experienced déjà vu. The percentage of persons that believe precognitive dreaming is possible is even higher, ranging from 63% to 98%.

I also found this line interesting in a separate article talking about an Oxford study:

Researchers also tied evidence of precognitive dreams to déjà vu experiences that occurred anywhere from one day to eight years later.

Although I may never know the truth on this situation, it certainly isn't the first time this has happened to me. So am I experiencing a glitch in the space/time continuum? Or do I just happen to have super powers? ;)

Time Travel on a Spaceship To Tour the Roman Empire in 1500

The following dream took place over a week ago - so I will keep it short and to the point as best as I remember.

In my dream, I got onto a spaceship that traveled faster than the speed of light. It had to of, because I ended up landing back on Earth hundreds of years before the ship even took off. Now, this may sound very odd, but in my dream I felt like I was in the future and going on time-traveling trips was nothing more out of the ordinary than talking a dog on a walk.

So this is where it gets interesting - I arrive sometime around the year 1,500 at what appears to be the remains of the Roman Empire. Everyone else on this trip was a tourist just like me so it felt all too natural. I had no idea I was dreaming until a couple elements popped up that instantly triggered a "holy crap I'm dreaming!" response. (Which is one of the coolest feelings ever)

For some reason, plop in the center of the Roman Empire sits the house I grew up in (my family owns but we no longer reside there) and the bright blue house that sits across the street from us. Seeing my own house in the Roman Empire didn't phase me a bit, however, as soon as I saw the in-your-face blue house I thought "who the hell painted their houses blue in Rome in 1,500? wtf"

Anyway, this made me realize I was dreaming so I decided to explore the area by running and jumping really high and fast with no concern for gravity or getting injured. Becoming lucid is one of my favorite experiences EVER so I am very fortunate to have stumbled upon this particular identifier.

Anyway, the only dream elements which I feel are important enough to research are the space ship and the trip through time. Here's what I found:

Dreaming of spaceships:
To see a spaceship in your dream indicates that you are imaginative and artistic. It suggests that you should partake on a mission of inner discovery and comprehension. Change your outlook on a certain issue, even if it seems strange and peculiar.

Dreaming of Time Travel:
A dream about time travel symbolizes a desire to get away from things as they are. You might wish to move backward, but a move forward could mean that all your dreams will come true. The dream also symbolizes a passionate and amorous essence.

Both of these concepts came from dreamforth.com - a dictionary that has way more dream elements than I am used to finding. I recommend it for anyone who is interested in discovering what may be triggering certain kinds of dreams. Unfortunately I did not find anything on the Roman Empire - so if anyone has any links or information it is greatly appreciated! :)

I had two very strange dreams this week.

In my most recent dream, I woke up believing it was pitch black at 9 a.m. - so I ran outside to see a burnt out sun (like a grey ashy charcoal) in the sky.

The night before that, I dreamt I was swimming in the Ocean and looked up and saw 3 half moons and one full moon. The water was really bright turquoise, shiny and glistening. The sky was pale purple.

I realized I was dreaming in the too-gorgeous to be true dream, but was completely tricked by the "are you kidding wtf happened to the sun!" dream.

All of the elements I've dreamt about the past couple weeks are so random they can't be found in Dream Dictionaries. So if you happen to find anything out about "multiple moons" or "dark daytime" then I'd appreciate your feedback. :)
